A trained, neutral third-person paid to supervise the contact between a visiting parent and their child(ren). Visitation Monitors ensure safety and security of child-parent interactions while documenting what is seen and heard during a visitation. For additional duties, responsibilities and legal obligations required of visitation monitors refer to 2017 California Rules of Court 5.20 2. (A)- (O) on the Resources menu tab of Website.
Trust
The industry is here to provide a sense of trust for the children and to support the interactions between visiting parents and children without putting the children in the middle of parent’s conflicts or problems. The supervised visitation relationship between the Provider and the parties must also be conflict free.
Under my service-leadership I strive to employ the four principles of safe and secure supervised visitation outlined below:
- Voice (Listen)
- Neutrality (Be fair)
- Respectful treatment (Be respectful)
- Trustworthiness (Trying to do what’s best for the people)
- Transparency (Trying to be clear and open in all communications with clients)
